Saint George Hospital, constructed in 1878, is the oldest hospital in Lebanon and one of the three main medical centres in the country. The hospital is located in the heart of Beirut’s city centre. The hospital was renovated in 2004 and had room for 200 beds before the start of the renovation project. In 2016, new construction works were started to further expand the hospital. The renovation of Saint George Hospital was crucial to meeting the growing needs of the community and improving the quality of healthcare in Lebanon. 

For this renovation project, the contractor opted for Bekina BeSealed’s Bentobar+ with our accompanying installation mesh. Our well-known Bentobar+ swellable strips were used to waterproof all concrete construction joints and our installation mesh was used to install the swellable strips vertically. 

We are pleased that we have contributed in this way to improving healthcare in Lebanon.
