Testing institutes and certification

IAF stands for International Accreditation Forum, a global organization that manages accreditation systems for certification. They have conducted a radon diffusion report, confirming that our Polybar+ range meets radon density requirements. A radon diffusion report assesses the extent to which a material transmits radon, a radioactive gas. This report is essential for building materials used in areas with high radon levels, because it protects the health of residents by minimizing radon exposure. The Polybar+ product range not only makes concrete joints waterproof, but also keeps radon gas out. 

SGS Intron is part of SGS, the world leader in certification, inspection, verification and performance testing of materials and processes. SGS Intron predicts lifespan, assesses environmental impact, tests performance and conducts regulatory and quality audits. They measure the pressure resistance of our products in various applications. 

Vattenfall is a major European energy supplier that is also active in the field of sustainability and environmental certifications. Vattenfall’s R&D department wants to help develop the energy system of tomorrow. Their mission is to provide the best options and innovations for a sustainable energy policy. Vattenfall is looking for innovative, technical solutions. They measure the pressure resistance of our products in various applications. 

MPA Braunschweig (Material Testing Institute for Construction Materials) is an official European testing laboratory and advisory body based in Germany. MPA Braunschweig tests and certifies new products for the construction industry. MPA has both produced reports for our moulded products and granted MPA certificates for our Bentobar+ and Polybar+ swellable strips. 

Bekina (BeSealed) has been certified to the ISO9001 quality standard for many years. This standard collects all best practices regarding transparency, reliability and quality. By working according to the ISO9001 standard, we guarantee a high-quality service based on the needs and satisfaction of the customer, now and in the future. 

The ISO14001 certificate guarantees that a company has implemented an effective environmental management system. The certificate is not normally mandatory, but for us it is confirmation of our ambitious Bekina Standard. The strict standard reflects our genuine concern for the environment. We achieved this certification through the joint efforts of all our employees and partners. It provides enormous support to the chosen sustainability policy and motivates us to continually raise the bar above current regulations. 

ATec (Avis Technique) is a French, technical assessment certificate issued by the CSTB (Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment). The certificate confirms that a construction product is technically suitable for use in the French construction sector. The ATec certificate is awarded after thorough evaluation and testing, and it provides assurance about the performance and reliability of the product.

BBA stands for British Board of Agrément, an independent British certification body for the construction industry. Since the 1960s, the BBA has worked with the entire supply chain to understand the evolving expectations and innovation that play a role in the development of sustainable construction projects. A BBA certificate is a certificate of excellence based on strict national and European standards that validates the specialist composition, performance and unique character of a construction product. In other words, it means that a construction product has been tested and assessed for performance, durability and compliance with UK building regulations. This certificate is crucial for products on the British market and guarantees their quality and reliability.

Polybar+

The ‘General Building Code Test Certificate’ is issued by MPA Braunschweig, an official European (German) test laboratory and advisory body in the construction sector. This ensures that building materials and products have been tested for safety, reliability and compliance with legal standards. We have held this certificate for Bentobar+ and Polybar+ since 2014, and it is renewed every five years.
